The first annual Decorah Tour is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 30th. This will be a great opportunity for people of all ages to experience the Decorah community from the vantage point of the city’s recently upgraded network of bike trails, as featured on Iowa Public Television.
Whether you’re biking, running, or walking the thirteen plus miles of paved trail that wind through the area, you will be sure to enjoy a variety of sponsor tents and booths lining the section from Winneshiek Medical Center to the State Fish Hatchery. Parking will be available at Winneshiek Medical Center, directly across the street from the trail, State Fish Hatchery, and Walmart.
The Decorah Tour has two goals; to provide families, friends, visitors, and community members with a fun filled afternoon while simultaneously working towards the SCI CAN goal of raising $25,000.
All proceeds will be used to purchase a desperately needed theraputic bike, the RT300, for patients that have suffered a spinal cord injury or other similar neuromuscular disorders. Once the funds have been raised, the bike will be placed at the Winneshiek Medical Center and will be available for anyone to use at no cost.
Participation is free and donations to the SCI CAN Foundation are greatly appreciated, and can be made at various points on the trail. There will be a registration tent at Winneshiek Medical Center, so please register for various prizes and information on upcoming events.
If you would like to get involved make sure to check out our Potential Sponsorspage. Stay posted as we continue to make updates to the event.
